Your May Forecast :: Innovation and Imagination

Uncategorized May 26, 2020

It's May 1.  New month.  Fresh start.

The beginning of a new month always gives us an opportunity to reflect.

I know that I might sound like a broken record sometimes; gently nudging you to reflect, but it really is what helps us to appreciate our lives more fully.

Even though it may have felt like all of the days bled into the others in the last month, I assure you, you've changed.

Perhaps you've changed in ways that seem inconsequential to you right now.

Or perhaps you've changed in ways that are so significant you barely recognize yourself.

It doesn't matter.

You just have, and that's beautiful.

This month, the theme that I want to share with you is: imagination and innovation.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." - Einstein

Look around you.

If you ever doubt the power of imagination, remember that nearly everything you see was born out of someone's imagination.

I've been staring across at the NYC skyline nearly every day for the last month and its a bunch of tall buildings. A city made of ideas come to life.

Look at the device that you are reading this from.

I remember I once dated a guy 13 years ago who told me that one day we would be able to play music from our phones and that was absolutely mind-blowing at the time.

Who would have thought that several years later we could do that, plus all that we now do over all of our devices?

Imagination.

Innovation.

Most recently, look at how communities have come together, solutions have been created, and we have found ways to adapt.

This month, let your imagination soar.

Let yourself continue to innovate your life.

To find new ways to do old things.

To find old ways to do things that are actually really helpful.

To let your imagination drift and receive inspiration.

To find new solutions to problems.

Your first question to begin this month could be: what area of my life or myself do I want to innovate this month?

For further guidance, the dictionary definition of Innovate is: "make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products."

Your second question is: what do I imagine my future to look like?

With the powerful, transformative energy of Scorpio behind this month's full moon, there's no telling what you can do.

Go get it, Queen.

Self Reflection Journal Exercise

1. What one area of my life, or aspect of my life, do I want to innovate this month?

2. How will I make changes by establishing new methods, ideas or products in this area of my life?

3. What do I imagine that my life could look like six months from now?

4. Ten years ago, where did I imagine I would be now? How is now better than what I imagined? How is it the same? How is it different?

5. As a kid, how did I access my imagination?
